NASA Lands On Mars (again)

And you thought you had a long travel for Thanksgiving!
“After traveling for nearly seven months and more than 300 million miles, NASA’s InSight spacecraft has finally landed safely on the surface of Mars.

NASA announced the news Monday afternoon (11/26), while also sharing its first image taken from the Red Planet’s surface.

NASA says the picture shows a flat, smooth expanse called Elysium Planitia, but notes that InSight’s real work will take place underneath the planet’s surface.

The landing kicks off a two-year mission in which InSight will become the first spacecraft to study Mars’ deep interior, helping scientists understand the formation of all rocky worlds, including Earth.

InSight is NASA’s first Mars landing since the Curiosity rover in 2012.” -Nash Prep

Amazing. NASA can land a rover on the moon and I can barely parallel park…….-Wendigo
